
Welcome to New Haven County. Established in 1666, the historic county spans 28 municipalities including 2 of the state’s largest: New Haven and Waterbury. The famous Boston Post Road runs along all of the county’s shoreline towns and cities and several interstate highways are located in New Haven as well; Interstate 91 heads towards Hartford and the state of Vermont, while Interstates 84 and 94 guide residents throughout the county. About an hour drive away, the Bradley International Airport connects Connecticut with the rest of the world. New Haven County is home to over 860,000 people and is an eclectic mix of suburban, urban, and even rural living. Here, there is truly something for everyone.

There are 25 school districts in New Haven County. For residents, school choice is not based completely on geographic location as students can attend school in any of the districts throughout the county.
