With a modest population of just over 116,000 people, life in Windham County is relaxed and simple. Within the county, you will find picturesque villages, bustling small towns, and plenty of tremendous New England views. Its rural setting may be attributed to the fact that the entire county falls within the Quinebaug and Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor. Though quiet, the county borders Worcester, Massachusetts and is included in the busy city’s metropolitan area. Windham County is also home to its own airport, Windham Airport.
